“I prefer not too!” is Margaret’s response to her camp director and counselor when asked why she won’t participate in any camp activities. Margaret is sent to camp while her parents travel in Peru. Because Margaret refuses to participate and is being teased by other campers, her two uncles pick her up from camp.
Margaret looks forward to spending time with her uncles and helping them with their backyard artwork. However, she finds that their scrap metal towers are set to be demolished. Margaret takes on a campaign to save art, learn about business and makes friends.
The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place is a quirky read by E.L. Konigsburg, especially for young aspiring movers and shakers!
