Five on Friday

Hello, welcome to my blog! I’ve got a mix of children’s literature, book reviews, children’s toy and things to do, along with everyday fancy fun.

  1. Reading:  I’m just about to start this book by Kwan after finishing the first two in the series.  They were fun and super interesting about certain aspects of Asian culture.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Kevin Kwan, bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians (soon to be a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE starring Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh and Gemma Chan) and China Rich Girlfriend, is back with an uproarious new novel of a family riven by fortune, an ex-wife driven psychotic with jealousy, a battle royal fought through couture gown sabotage, and the heir to one of Asia’s greatest fortunes locked out of his inheritance.

Little Beach Street Bakery

I just finished this adorable book, and I enjoyed it so much.  It’s a sweet story about a woman who decides to start over by starting a bakery.  If you like British culture and Sophie Kinsella, you will like this novel.

In the bestselling tradition of Jojo Moyes and Jennifer Weiner, Jenny Colgan’s moving, funny, and unforgettable novel tells the story of a heartbroken young woman who turns a new page in her life . . . by becoming a baker in the town of Cornwall

2.  Buying:

Baby Diaper backpack from Amazon

Amazon Prime to rescue, as usual! I have a few good totes for carting my normal haul along with my children’s things.  However, we’re doing a few weekend trips this summer and of course, Amazon had an in expensive option (similar design to a more expensive one).  It’s got tons of pockets, and it is an open frame top. So far, I really like it! There are a few cheap shortcuts, but, overall, I’m please with it for the price!

3. Listening:

I use Spotify now and love finding new music.  This band reminds me of Van Morrison, Leon Bridges, and Adele.  Or the music you’d have playing on the patio for a party or relaxed evening.

St. Paul and the Broken Bones

4. Drinking

This fabulous white wine from Trader Joe’s that has a bit of fizz with it.  It’s cheap and delicious:

5. Conquering:

Our new Instant Pot! We’ve tried pork tenderloin and were impressed with it.  I’m still a newbie to using it, so send any tips or recipes my way!

Happy a great weekend!
